Feminized, auto-flowering, regular

Feminized seeds produce female plants — the ones that make flower — which is what most home growers want. Auto-flowering seeds flip to bloom on a timer rather than in response to a light schedule, so they are the simplest choice for a first grow, especially outdoors in BC where the summer is short. Regular seeds produce roughly a 50/50 split of male and female plants and are mostly used by breeders.

Germinating your seeds

The paper-towel method still works best: place seeds between two damp (not wet) sheets of paper towel on a plate, cover, keep at 22–24°C, and check every 12 hours. Most seeds crack a taproot within 24–72 hours. Plant taproot-down, roughly 5mm below the surface, into a small starter pot with a light seedling mix.
